Frequently asked questions.

  • The Glendale City Employees Association, referred to as the GCEA, represents full-time City of Glendale employees in collective bargaining negotiations for job protection, competitive salaries, enhanced fringe benefits and improved retirement benefits, supplies grievance representation, and provides group insurance and entertainment discounts.

  • Be involved with the GCEA; the more Members who participate, the more leverage we have in negotiations, and the more events and activities we can participate in. The larger our association grows the more weight it brings to the table when discussing issues important to you.

  • The GCEA enrollment form can be accessed with the button at the bottom of this page. It also can be found in the Documents tab and the About tab. Please either fill out digitally and email to gcea@glendaleca.gov or print out and deliver to your Association Director.

  • Benefits include a mortuary fund, interest-free loans for emergencies, legal representation for labor related events, group insurance rates, including life, pet, cancer, hospital and other supplementary policies. We also provide entertainment discounts and gym membership subscriptions. For full list, please view the Benefits page.

  • The list of directors can be found on the bottom of the About page. Please search for your department in the table. If your department is not present, please email gcea@glendaleca.gov to find who your representative is. To contact your director please use their city email or reach out to the gcea@glendaleca.gov for alternative methods of communication. We are always looking for new directors to join our board, so if you would like to participate, please email gcea@glendaleca.gov.
